With so much of today’s popular music focusing on fashion, glamour and other tangibles, it is a breathe of fresh air and a glimpse of hope to see young artists using their gifts to promote awareness of the harsh situations which plague urban America. This is exactly what Ohio native Cy Harp does in “Dead Serious.” From sexual and domestic abuse (check out the Videos “Rape” and “Fallen Tears”) to drugs and inner city violence, Harp touches on sensitive subjects which many artists overlook or are too afraid to speak on. This is def an album worth an ear (or two)!
